Mondays

Mondays are terrible. Of course, that can lead to a debate with Hurd over whether or not Tuesdays are worse than Mondays. But from my perspective right now, Mondays are terrible.

Play by play of the day:

Math SL reivew this morning before school with Conway. A grand total of 4 people showed up. It was pretty amazing. And for some reason, I seemed to actually understand the material. Which is pretty weird.

Band was band. Other than the weird tofu-meat comment Benson made, nothing exciting happened.

HOA: We took a test. Multiple choice and short answer. On the 1950s. The end.

English: Basically, Pedro Paramo has me confused beyond belief. And Caulfield isn't exactly helping too much since this is a very open interpretation book. So we can say whatever we want as long as we have proof. Which makes things very confusing.

TOK: We went over our CAS hours and the beginnings of the Extended Essay. In other words: boring.

Lunch- First thing I did was drop off M&Ms to HC and give my congrats on having 3 vocalists make it. And of course, she was in a terrific mood (nice change) and very excited about that. And she said that me being the only one to get in last year as a fluke and that this is the way things should be. I then went and ate part of my lunch, then bugged Benson to let me see my score sheet, which he swore he didn't have. (HC told me she had put them in his mailbox). The comments were good and there was some constructive criticism. Then I went to the bandroom and talked with Eleanor about All-State and whatnot.

Spanish- My head is still swimming from that grammar lesson. Ick!

Music- I basically love this class. We listened to music (gasp!) and marty entertained us with his interpretations of the music. And he threw pens and shoes at Beth, and I got yelled at. Go figure. Beth was building forts out of my pens. We listened to the Romeo and Juliet overture which has a really famous love theme, during which Kayla and I "nearly cried" and Benson and HC were *gasp* nice to each other for a few seconds. Then the feud started, which was funny since HC has a letter opener in her desk. No threats were made of course.

Lessons- I actually had a lesson with Benson. Between my college visits, snow days, vacation and Benson cutting his fingers open, I couldn't remember the last time I had a lesson with him. So we went over my score sheet (again) and then talked about clarinet music I should be taking a look at. And now we're working on an arrangement of Weber's Second Concerto. Which he had me sight read. Which I couldn't do. Since I stink at sightreading complex rhythms.

Math SL- Our poor, poor, student teacher. Conway keeps leaving for lacrosse games, so she has to teach us. Today she said "Okay, I will give a candy bar to anyone who can teach me any of this. I haven't done vectors since I was a junior in high school. Which was long ago." We were supposed to cover 5 problems. We barely made it through one. But I do get a Snickers bar tomorrow!!

And we got our report cards today.

CONGRATS to Eleanor, Hannah and Peter on their amazing vocal auditions!! Their 100s save us from a year of HC being upset again. Also, nice job Kayla, Beth, Will, Walker, Marty, and everyone else who went to auditions!!

Katie, I have come to the conclusion that I really like your sense of humor and that you should publish a book later in your life with entries such as these...the end.
